GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Three brothers have been killed and a fourth wounded as a result of a land dispute in the capital of southeastern Paktia province.
The triple murder took place in the Shakarkhel village of Gardez on Saturday evening, the victims’ father said on Sunday.
Haji Hamidullah told Pajhwok Afghan News they had a dispute with their cousins over land ownership. Initially, a verbal dispute took place between his sons and their cousins.
He said after the quarrel, the other side opened fire on his sons, killing three of them on the spot and injuring a fourth.
He asked the authorities to take stern action against the killers. Local officials confirmed the incident, but declined giving further details.
