KABUL (Pajhwok): China called on Thursday for an immediate end to unilateral sanctions or restrictions on Afghanistan.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi demanded the lifting of economic sanctions on Afghanistan in a statement from the foreign ministry in Beijing.
Wang made the demand at a virtual G20 foreign ministers’ meeting on Afghanistan, Reuters reported, citing the foreign ministry statement.
The foreign minister stressed Afghanistan’s foreign exchange reserves should be used by its own people
The Afghan national assets should not be used as a bargaining chip to exert pressure on Afghanistan, the minister added.
