KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): A huge gathering of people in southeastern Khost province on Thursday demonstrated in support of Taliban and asked for unfreezing of Afghanistan money.

The demonstrators gathered in Sargardan Square in Khost city, the provincial capital, chanted slogans in support of Taliban’s new administration.

The demonstrators also voiced on the international community to recognize the Taliban’s government and unfreeze billions of US dollars.

One of the participants of the rally, DaudBawar, told Pajhwok Afghan News that he supported the Taliban’s government because all rights of Afghans were protected in an Islamic system.

“We wanted a complete administration in the past and want it now. We were deprived of this in the past, it is a mercy of God that granted us a good Islamic system. We definitely support it and would always stand with it,” he said.

Rahmatullah, another demonstrator, also said that he supported the Taliban and asked the international community to unfreeze the money of Afghanistan.

He said that they did not want human rights which were not allowed in Islam.

“We call on foreign countries to unfreeze the money of Afghanistan which is currently frozen, because it is the right of our whole nation, it is not the right of Emirate, it is the right of whole nation,” he said.

They also asked other countries to stand with the new government and let no one try for destructions.

Taliban took control of Kabul and the whole country around 40 days ago.
