FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Some disabled persons and the heirs of martyrs in northeastern Badakhshan on Monday complained about non-payment of their stipend, asking the authorities to address their problem
During exclusive chat with Pajhwok Afghan News, some said government owed them one year stipend and some claimed two years stipend.
Dawlat,65, got injured while fighting Soviet Union 30 years back, said: “I have not received stipend for six months and now I am in a bad economic situation with my family of eight. We are struggling to arrange food.”
This disabled person asked authorities in power to provide them their six month stipends.
Rohullah, a martyr heir from Faizabad City, complained they did not receive stipends for his martyred brother from the past two years. He also urged authorities to make sure they get their privileges and rights soon.
Taliban deputy governor for Badakhshan did not comment on the payment of stipends of those killed or injured in fight against the Taliban but assured that the stipends of those martyred or injured in the fight against Soviet Union would be paid.
