Police detain mob involved in Afghanistan Belgium embassy attack

KABUL (Pajhwok): Some armed men on Sunday stormed Afghanistan’s embassy in Belgium and taken the facility in their control but security personnel took swift action, cleared the building and arrested assailants, according to a joint statement.

European Union, Belgium government, NATO and Afghanistan embassy in Brussels said six assailants on early morning entered the embassy building and captured it. They introduced themselves as Afghanistan Democratic Citizens.

They forced their way into the embassy building by breaking windowpanes and closed exit gates. They entered the internet facility of the embassy and damaged security cameras and other equipment.

The attack came to end after security personnel interfered and Afghan envoy persuaded the attackers to surrender.
