KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Minister of Information Zabihullah Mujahid has rejected a news report regarding the execution of a journalist in western Herat province.
A judicial investigation would help resolve the issue, Mujahid said while commenting on Pishgoo News Agency report.
The media outlet claimed that Murtaza Samadi, a freelance photographer and journalist, was arrested by the Taliban on September 7 during a demonstration in front of the Football Federation in Herat.
The news agency reported that the journalist had been taken into custody by the Taliban on charges of instigating people into participating in the protest.
