KABUL (Pajhwok): Documents show the MilliSubat Association used some government tools since last one year, but the association has asked the Office of the Administrative Affairs to receive the equipment.
ZiaulhaqAmarkhel, was head of government’s Peace Commission for Hizb-i-Islami Afghanistan (HIA) and also led Milli Subat Association.
A member of the association, who wished to go unnamed, told Pajhwok Afghan News that after the commission was dissolved a year ago, Amarkhel shifted the commission’s equipment to Milli Subat Association.
He said that the equipment included chairs, tables, computers, power generators and kitchen tools which all of them worth 600,000 Afghanis.
Amarkhel and former deputy head of High Peace Council, Mohammad AkramKhpalwak had once disputed over the shifting of the equipment to the association.
Pajhwok tried to also share the issue with Khpalwak, but a contact could not be established with him.
The equipment was shifted to the association based on a decision of the Office of Administrative Affairs of the government after Khpalwak was removed from heading the Peace Commission.
The member of the association, who wished not to be named, said that Amarkhel did not want to hand over the equipment to the government.
However, a letter dated September 1, shows that Amarkhel has asked the Office of Administrative Affairs to receive the equipment and tools.
The letter explains that the tools include used office tables, chairs, computers, printers, couches, an armored gate, an armored booth, generators, kitchen tools, fans, heaters, TVs and some other electronic tools.
Another follow up letter was sent to the same office 24 days later and sent the same request to the office.
The second letter reads, “As you did not inform us about receiving the equipment, we handed over an armored Land Cruiser vehicle of the office to ShahabuddinDelawar, a key member of Islamic Emirate, other equipment are still kept with us.”
The second letter was shared with Pajhwok by Amarkhel but he did not share the list of items.
Photos obtained by Pajhwok show that armored gates of the commission and some other tools used in MilliSubat Association.
Pajhwok shared the issue with media in charge of the Ministry of Information and Culture, Bilal Karimi, but he did not respond so far.
Amarkhel shared a list of equipment on his Facebook page on September 5 and said that he has shared the list with the Islamic Emirate.
