Uruzgan IDPs receive cash assistance

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Six hundred Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) have received cash assistance in central Uruzgan province, according to local authorities on Sunday.

The cash assistance process has been launched by UNHCR and would be distributed to IDPs in other provinces as well.

Mawlavi Mohammad QasimFurqani, an official of Civilian Casualties and Compliant Commission, said each person was provided $195 so they could arrange necessary items of their need.

These families were certified as vulnerable people according to a survey conducted in 2019 and 2020.

He said this aid distribution process will continue and will cover more vulnerable IDPs.
