KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan national cricket team on Wednesday arrived in Qatar to participate in ICC Twenty –Twenty World Cup which will be played in the United Arab Emirate (UAE) this month.
Afghanistan Cricket Board Chairman Azizullah Fazli said due to the none-availability of director flights to the UAE the players will first go to Qatar and from there they will arrive in Dubai.
He said the limited overs world cup will start on October 23 and the tournament will continue for 21-days.
“This a positive sign that ICC event is played in the UAE where Afghanistan players have good track record. We hope that our team will perform well,” said Fazli.
Fazal Haq Farooqi, one of the players, said that they are fully prepare to take on any challenge and will strive to perform well.
