KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi on Saturday said he met with a US delegation in Doha to discuss respect for Afghanistan's territorial integrity and non-interference in each other's affairs and talked about positive communication and interaction.
A delegation led by Muttaqi left for Qatar yesterday and today (Saturday) the two sides held talks for the first time since the fall of Kabul in Doha, the capital of Qatar. .
Muttaqi said in a voice message released today that he met with US officials in Doha today and that the talks would continue tomorrow.
According to him, the meeting also focused on the continuation of humanitarian assistance, full implementation of the Doha Agreement, respect for Afghanistan's territorial integrity, non-interference in each other's affairs, positive relations and interaction with each other.
The minister said they told US officials at the meeting that Afghanistan's instability was not in anyone's interest and that engagement with Afghanistan was in the interests of all countries.
He said Afghanistan's soil would not be used to the detriment of any country, adding that they had called on other countries to help Afghans.
