KABUL (Pajhwok): India plans to host a meeting of regional national security advisors (NSAs) on the evolving situation Afghanistan, a media report said on Sunday.
Pakistani and Russian NSAs have also been invited to the meeting, which is expected to take place in the second week of next month, according to The Times of India.
China, Iran, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have also been invited to the regional conference on the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
According to TOI, the participants will confer on the security situation and the need for the Taliban to respect human rights.
Indian NSA Ajit Doval is likely to chair the event, which is being organised by the Delhi-based National Security Council Secretariat.
The Taliban, who have not been invited so far to the conference, may attend the Moscow Format talks on October 20. India too will participate in the talks.
