KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations Security Council will debate the situation in Afghanistan this month, reports a Russian media outlet.
“A meeting on Afghanistan will be held on November 17,” the UN Security Council president was quoted as saying by TASS on Tuesday.
In addition, the 15-member council would also hold meetings on Yemen, Syria, and the Middle East, Mexican Permanent Representative Juan Ramon de la Fuente Ramirez announced.
President of the Security Council for November, he said an open debate would take place on the topic of inequality and conflict on November 9.
A week later, he added, the top UN body would hold an open debate on international peace and security.
An event on the impact of small arms traffic on peace and security will take place on November 22.
The council will also meet on Bosnia and Herzegovina, Somalia, Yemen, Iraq, Libya, Syria and the Middle East in general.
