ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Security forces have seized hundreds of feet of timber and arrested smugglers in eastern Kunar province.
Governor Mohammad Khalid Qasim told Pajhwok Afghan News that he had stepped up the fight against timber smugglers and had no mercy in this regard.
He said five people had been arrested by government forces in the past few days over smuggling of timber and cooperation with smugglers. Hundreds of feet of timber were also seized from the smugglers, he said.
The governor added he was happy with the current achievements in the fight against smugglers and would continue to do so . . .
