AIBAK (Pajhwok): One hundred acres of land have been allocated for agricultural research in the Hazrat Sultan district of northern Samangan province.
Deputy Governor Maulvi Mohammad Yaqoob Mansour handed over the land documents to the Agriculture Faculty of Samangan Higher Education Institute at a ceremony.
He said paperwork and other processes had been completed earlier and today (Monday), the land was officially handed over to the institute.
Habibullah Ahmadi, head of the Samangan Higher Education Institute, hailed the step, saying the institution was inaugurated 15 years ago and around 3,000 students were studying there in agriculture, economy and education disciplines.
He said students of the agriculture faculty were facing problems in conducting practical work and the formation of a farm on land would help resolve the issues.
