FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Public health workers in northeastern Badakhshan province say they have not received salaries for the last five months and ask the government to pay them their wages in order to continue their jobs.

Ayesha, a nurse, in the hospital of Shaheed Ustad Rabbani, told Pajhwok that she had not received salary for five months.

“Our salaries have not been transferred since the fall of the previous administration,” she said. She said it was an issue for all of employees of the hospital.

“We are facing severe economic problems, we are present at our duty every day, winter has arrived, we wonder what to do,” she explained.

She said the Islamic Emirate should transfer their salary of at least two months, so they were able to deal with the winter.

Meanwhile, Fathullah, an employee at the Public Health Department, said most of the staff had not received their salaries.

He said in the previous administration they were given lunch, but for three months now, the lunch has not been given to them.

On the other hand, Amir Mohammad Sahel, the administrative director of the Badakhshan Public Health Department, says that he has gone to Kabul several times to transfer the monthly salaries of the department's employees, but the Ministry of Public Health has not yet taken action to transfer their salaries.

"It is really difficult. I am facing the same problem. I went to Kabul several times, they promise, but it has not been implemented yet."
