KABUL (Pajhwok): A government official on Monday said that the new administration worked hard in the last 100 days to establish governance and provide security to people, but no efforts were made for resolving economic problems.
ZabihullahMujahid, government spokesman and deputy information and culture minister, said, “Most of us worked on security in the last 100 days. Thanks to God, the security of the country is better than before.”
He added that a lot of efforts were also made on good governance in the last 100 days and government services had been activated both in the capital and provinces of the country.
However, Mujahid acknowledged economic problems in the country and said that no efforts were made to address this issue during the period.
“What we have not been able to work on in the last 100 days is to solve economic problems, we have to work on it and resolve these problems,” he said.
He cited the US freezing of Afghanistan’s money, lack of economic infrastructure and proper revenue collection as main reasons for the country’s economic problems.
In the next 100 days, Mujahid said, the main task of the government will be to solve economic problems in the country.
He added that the government will work to solve economic problems by raising revenues, building economic infrastructure and attracting aid.
He hoped that the country’s economic activities would be boosted and its economic problems solved in the near future.
