KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan has imported 26,000 tonnes of vegetables and fruits from Uzbekistan during the first 10 months of the current year.
Overall, the Central Asian nation exported 1.2 million tonnes of fruits and vegetables worth $747.4 million during the 10-month period, AKI Press reported.
Kazakhstan (538,000 tonnes), Russia – (341,000 tonnes), Kyrgyzstan (112,000 tonnes), China (65,000 tonnes) and Ukraine (28,000 tonnes) were among the top importers.
Other notable importers included Afghanistan (26,000 tonnes), Turkmenistan (24,000 tonnes), Pakistan (23,000 tonnes), Belarus (13,000 tonnes), Turkey (11,000 tonnes) and Iran (7,500 tonnes).
