KABUL (Pajhwok): Government officials on Thursday said that all girls' schools and universities will reopen next academic year in accordance to Islamic rules.
Zabihullah Mujahid, deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Information and Culture, talking to a gathering in Kabul today said, "Our sisters should be confident that their schools will reopen.”
He said the government is trying to develop a mechanism for education that would be in line with Islamic rules and national interests.
Mujahid added that all schools and universities will be reopened in accordance with Islamic standards next academic year.
Girls' schools from seventh to 12 grades did not reopen this year following regime change in the country.
