PARON (Pajhwok): Residents of eastern Nuristan province say the passport distribution process is yet to be started after the government last week promised to launch it in the province.
Bashir, a resident of the province, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the passport distribution was yet to be launched.
Last week, the government announced that passport distribution would start in 10 provinces, including Nuristan.
Mohammad Musa, a tribal elder, said: “We urgently need passports because most of our ailing people are taken to neighboring Pakistan for treatment.”
Other residents of the province held similar views regarding passport distribution.
