Passport distribution in Logar suspended indefinitely

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): The passport distribution process in central Logar province has been suspended indefinitely, an official said on Thursday.

Police spokesperson Ahmadullah Anas told Pajhwok Afghan News the passport office had been closed due to technical issues in its operating system.

Without providing details, he said efforts were on to resume routine activities soon.

He asked people not to bother themselves by visiting the passport office.

Meanwhile, the closure has disappointed local residents seeking passports.

Ahmad Shah, hailing from Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital, said he wanted to get his passport and travel to Pakistan for medical treatment.

But news regarding the passport office closure had disappointed him, the man said, urging the authorities to ensure the swift resumption of activities.
