PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): The Salang Pass has been closed for heavy traffic due to snowfall, a statement said on Sunday.
The snowfall began at 1:40am on Saturday night, making it difficult for trailers and trucks to move, the Salang Maintenance and Protection Authority said.
“The snowfall got heavier at dawn and is still underway sporadically and may continue into the night,” the statement added.
However, the key route remains open for all other vehicles, whose drivers take necessary protection measure.
