KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Two women were killed and three other persons were injured in an armed attack on a vehicle in southern Kandahar province, an official said on Saturday.
Kandahar Information Department Director Hafiz Ahmad Saeed told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened near Shahedano Square.
He blamed the attack on personal enmity, adding that armed persons attacked a vehicle in which four women and a man were traveling.
He said a 12-year-old girl and a woman were killed while two women and a man injured in the incident.
Azizullah, a relative of the victims, said his brother and other family members attended an invitation and were attacked on their way back.
He said Kandahar police chief and intelligence affairs head visited them in the hospital and got all necessary information.
He asked the Taliban to arrested culprits behind the attack on his family members and punish them.
Officials, however, rejected report that the Taliban were involved in the attack.
