KABUL (Pajhwok): Reports that a man in central Parwan province hanged himself to death due to poverty are untrue. His relatives say the man committed suicide due to a family tiff.

Claim
Kabul-based daily Hasht-i-Subh published a report that a 40-year-old man allegedly hanged himself in Parwan as a result of financial hardships.
The newspaper quoted a local source as saying Mohammad Najib killed himself on Friday night in the Tatmandra village.
According to the report, Najib used to drive a passenger bus. However, he lost his job recently.
The report also circulated on social media.

Khatera Nekzad, Najib’s relative, told Pajhwok Afghan News the report regarding the man hanging himself due to poverty was flawed.
She said Najib had financial problems, but family problems were the main reason that forced him to commit suicide.
“Najib had some problem with his father two or three days ago. His father expelled him from the house and subsequently he committed suicide.”
Mehdi, Najib’s brother-in-law, also said family issues were behind the suicide. He denied the man had hanged himself because of poverty.
