MoF prepares draft-budget 2022 sans foreign support

KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting government says draft-budget for 2022 has been prepared without relying on foreign aid and would be soon presented in the cabinet meeting for approval.

Afghanistan fiscal year kicks off on December 22 every year.

Finance Ministry Spokesperson Ahmad Wali Haqmal said the draft budget is almost ready adding it would be presented in the cabinet meeting soon.

He did not provide detail about draft budget but said in the past two decades it was the first time budget has been prepared without foreign support.

He said in the past 78 working days the MoF collected 26.9 billion afs revenue.

Finance ministry prepared the draft budget relying on domestic sources of revenue at a time that US has frozen nearly $10 billion reserves of Afghanistan.
