KABUL (Pajhwok): Minister of Foreign Affairs Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi has met Kazakhstan Trade Minister Bakhyt Sultanov in Kabul.
During Saturday’s meeting, Muttaqi commended Kazakhstan for its humanitarian assistance and support to Afghanistan.
The foreign minister assured the Kazakh delegation of Afghanistan’s ability to connect Kazakhstan with South Asia and provide security.
He called on Kazakhstan to provide educational scholarships to Afghan students in technical and other areas.
Sultanov said Afghanistan’s economic rehabilitation was of significance to his country, according to a statement from the government.
Kazakhstan also wanted to export its products to reach markets of other countries through Afghanistan, the visiting minister added.
He said 250 Kazakh companies were in contact with Afghanistan, with representatives of 16 having already arrived in Kabul.
The Kazakh government was ready to facilitate banking ties with Afghanistan, resume flights and continue to provide scholarships to Afghan students, Sultanov concluded.
