KABUL (Pajhwok): Though the former government had had declared Hakim Alokozai’s anti-coronavirus drugs illegal, yet the traditional physician insists his drug is also effective in preventing Omicron. He claims distributing to the people over 14 million doses of the drug so far.
Pajhwok Afghan News released a report two years ago that Hakim Alokozai had claimed preparing a drug to treat the coronavirus.
But the former Ministry of Public (MoPH) then said results of tests had showed that a variety of drugs, including morphine and opium, had been used in the composition of the drops make by Alkozai. The drops were offered to the people as a medicine to treat Covid-19.
Ex-officials declared Alokozai’s drugs and activities illegal, but he told a press conference on Monday that more than 14 million doses of his drug had been distributed across the country.
He added: “Now that the coronavirus was on the rise again, we are starting to serve and distribute those drops and some vaccines, as we did in the past.”
He assured the effectiveness of the medicine, saying it was useful in preventing Covid-19. He urged people to use his remedy, which was distributed free of cost.
About the use of opium and other drugs in the composition of his medicine, he said, “I reject this report. I must say that every type of medicine has 10 percent of opium.”
“From two-month-old children to 100-year-old people can use this drug. I can guarantee its efficacy worldwide,” he asserted.
Alokozai said those who had used his medicine were satisfied and had not complained of side-effects. The medicine also treated the new coronavirus variant (Omicron), he claimed.
The doctor said the security forces of the caretaker government, who used his medicine, had asked their seniors to continue supporting him.
He claimed he had met “Islamic Emirate” leaders at the time of making the new medicine and donated it to them well.
Pajhwok approached the ministry for comments, but it declined to say anything on the issue.
