Innocent inmates to be released soon: Cabinet

KABUL (Pajhwok): The cabinet on Tuesday appointed a delegation to visit all the detainees in persons and take an urgent decision regarding those held innocently.

A statement from the Office of Administrative Affairs received by Pajhwok Afghan News said that the cabinet meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund.

“A high-level delegation led by Sheikh Abdul Malik, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, has been appointed to inspect the prisons and detention centers and make an urgent decision regarding the release of innocent prisoners in compliance with the order of the AmirulMominin,” the statement said.

The statement said the cabinet also decided to dedicate 10 out of 16 warehouses of Kabul Municipality in Pul-i-Charkhi area to the Ministry of Public Health for the treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts.

According to the statement, the cabinet meeting stressed that export of any kind of metals from the country was strictly prohibited.

The cabinet also instructed the Economic Delegation to look into the issue of Shurabak Dam in Badakhshan, processing of mining contracts and incorporation of some mines and share the results with the next meeting of the cabinet.

The cabinet instructed a joint delegation of the Ministry of Education, Urban Development Department and Office of Administrative Affairs to identify a suitable location for Islamic Education section of the Ministry of Education.
