100kg of heroin worth Rs1b seized in Torkham

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Customs officials have claimed seizing 100 kilograms of heroin detaining a peddler in Torkham.

The heroin was recovered from an empty truck (KBL-2652), Additional Customs Collector Muhammad Tayyab said.

He told journalists the contraband had been concealed in hidden cavities of the truck. The heroin seized was worth Rs1 billion in the market he claimed.

Muhammad Tayyab said they had seized a record haul of drugs being smuggled from Afghanistan in the past two weeks.
