2 pilots injured as army chopper crashes in Maiwand

KABUL (Pajhwok): A military helicopter has crashed in southern Kandahar province, says the Ministry of Defense (MoD).

The helicopter that was on a training mission fell in Maiwand district on Wednesday, MoD spokesman Inayatullah Khwarizmi said.

He linked the crash to technical problems, saying two pilots were wounded. One of the pilots is in critical condition.

Some social media users said the helicopter was evacuating people marooned by floods in Maiwand.
