MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): The intelligence chief for southern Laghman province has been killed in a traffic accident, an official said on Thursday.
Governor Salahuddin Zahid told Pajhwok Afghan News the provincial spymaster, Maulvi Ulfat Hashimi, was killed in the accident on Wednesday night.
The incident happened in the Qarargah locality of Mehtarlam, the provincial capital. Five security personnel were injured and shifted to hospital.
Hashimi’s funeral would be offered at 2:00pm today (Thursday), the governor said.
