KABUL (Pajhwok): Fuel, Kazakhi flour and gold prices have surged this weekend in Kabul markets while rates of other essential items remained unchanged, Pajhwok Afghan News learned on Saturday.
Fuel price increased by 4.6 percent
A worker of Ahmadyar Group Fuel Station told Pajhwok Afghan News the price of one liter petrol increased from 78afs to 81afs and the price of a liter of diesel from 71afs to 75afs.
He said fuel price increased following surge in the value of dollar against afghani.
Mohammad Sharif, a gas seller in Kulula Pushta area of Kabul, the price of a kilogram of the commodity was remained steady at 82afs.
Flour price increased
Zamarai Safi, head of Kabul Traders Union, said the price of 49 kilograms of Kazakhi flour increased from 2,400afs to 2,450afs.
He added, today as last week the price of 49 kilograms of Indian sugar was 3,200afs, 24.5 kilograms of Pakistani rice was 2,600afs, 16 liters of Malaysian cooking oil was 2,800afs, a kilogram of African black tea was 450afs and the same quantity of Indonesian green tea was 400afs.
Hamid Sufizadah, a retailer in Kabul, said that today the price of 49 kilograms of Kazakhstani flour was 2,500afs, 24kg of Pakistani rice 2,650afs, and the price of 49kgof Indian sugar was 3,250afs, a tin of 16 liters of cooking oil 2,850afs. A kilogram of Indonesian green tea costs 450afs and the same quantity of African black tea 500afs, he said.
Gold price more than one percent
Mohammad Javid, a jeweler in Lycee Maryam area of Kabul the price of one gram of Arabic gold increased from 4,650afs to 4,700afs and the same quantity of Russian variety increased from 3,650afs to 3,700afs.
According to information, one US dollar is accounted for 104afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees 558afs.
