KABUL (Pajhwok): Some Afghans have reacted to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s comments about sending professional manpower to help Afghanistan's economy and avert humanitarian crisis.
Afghans on social media and other platforms reacted to Khan’s comment and said Afghans have professional cadres and they were ready to voluntarily work for the development of the country.
Pakistan Prime Minister Office in a series of tweets on Sunday said: “Pakistan is committed to providing all-out support to Afghan people to avert humanitarian crisis,”
“The Prime Minister directed the authorities concerned to explore bilateral cooperation with friendly countries as well to stave off humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan by exporting qualified and trained manpower especially in medical, IT, Finance and accounting.”
Afghan government reaction
Reacting to Imran Khan’s comment, government deputy spokesperson Inamullah Samangani said: “The reality is that Imran Khan has asked friendly nations to provide support to Afghanistan.”
Government Spokesperson ZabihullahMujahid said: “We have strong manpower within the Islamic Emirate at the regional level. Youth that works here could not be found in other nations forget about Pakistan. As an example I could say the Tazkera distribution system available with us could not be found at the regional level, similarly, in banking and other systems our youth are very professional.”

People, politicians’ reaction to Imran Khan’s comments
Former president Hamid Karzai thanked Imran Khan for offering manpower support to Afghanistan and said: “Hamid Karzai welcomes PM Imran Khan’s suggestion of sending foreign manpower in particular Pakistani manpower to Afghanistan but there is no need for such manpower,”.
The former president also urged the Taliban’s caretaker government in Kabul to create job opportunities, saying that employing the youth will also facilitate the return of Afghan refugees and professionals who are currently living in exile.
Former Nangarhar Governor Zia-ul-HaqAmarkhel on his Twitter account wrote that sending manpower and professionals from Pakistan or any other country was provocative.
He wrote: “We have professional and qualified individuals in every department, fortunately.”
Common Afghans also react to Imran Khan’s comments.
Khan Mohammad Zaheen on his Facebook page wrote: “I am first position holder and journalism graduate. I authorized ten books and have nine years of professional experience. I am ready to work on half-pay with current officials against the import of foreign professionals.”
Nangarhar University teacher Ahmad Jameel Popalzai wrote: “I am ready to work volunteer part-time for the service of my country and people.”
Journalist MirwaisNoori said: “I have a job now, but if I could heal the wounds of this nation and serve the masses I am ready to work freely day and night for the country. Besides journalism, I have four years of experience in tailoring so I’m ready to serve our people in this field.”
