KABUL (Pajhwok): Nepal has provided 10 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan, the Nepal Foreign Ministry has said.
The humanitarian aid from the South Asian country comes at a time when the country is faced with the worst humanitarian and economic crisis.
The aid was handed over by Nepal’s Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal to UN Humanitarian and Development Coordinator for Afghanistan Ramiz Alakbarov at Kabul Airport on Sunday.
On its Twitter account, the Nepal Foreign Ministry wrote: “Ms @sewa_lamsal Joint Secretary of @MofaNepal hands over the humanitarian assistance from Nepal to @RamizAlakbarov Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and the Humanitarian & Development Coordinator for Afghanistan at the Kabul Int Airport today. @PaudyalBR”
Earlier UN urged the international community to provide $5 billion in aid for Afghanistan in 2022 to deal with the humanitarian crisis.
