KABUL (Pajhwok): Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) on Tuesday announced cutting off dozens of illegal electricity connections in Kabul.
The power utility said it intended to crack down on electricity stealers and bring them to justice.
A statement from DABS the illegal connections were cut off in the fourth police district of Kabul.
The stealers regretted their action and promised not to repeat their mistake in the future, the statement added.
Local leaders also promised to report any violations to the power utility.
DABS head for Kabul Fazal Rahman Fazli said: “Electricity is national wealth. From now on, anyone stealing it will face strict legal action.”
The power utility intended to cut off all illegal connections and bringing the perpetrators to justice, the statement concluded.
