Afghan pugilist Dawrani downed by Pakistani rival

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s noted pugilist Ahmad Samir Dawrani has been knocked down in the final of a key event in Pakistan.

He was downed by his Pakistani opponent Muzaffar Khan in the Arabian Sea Championship at the Liaquat Gymnasium in Islamabad on Saturday.

Right from the word go, Muzaffar dominated the bout and easily clinched the title. At one point, he looked to win the match inside three rounds.

In an exhibition fight, Samir Dawrani’s compatriot Gohar Ali was outplayed by Ajmal Pathan of Pakistan.
