PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): The Public Health Department in central Logar province has closed 30 health centers and pharmacies for lacking operational license.
Qudratullah Adel, director of public health, told Pajhwok Afghan News they had launched an assessment and evaluation campaign in the provincial capital and districts from the past few days.
He said during the campaign at least 30 health centers, including pharmacies, laboratories, clinics, and X-ray machines, were closed.
He said these health centers were located in Pul-i-Alam, Mohammad Agha, Baraki Barak, and Khoshai districts and had no legal license and were active in illegal places.
According to him, the public health department is striving to enforce the law on everyone and address health related problems.
Mohammad Akbar, a resident of Mohammad Agha district, said many private clinics, pharmacies and laboratories lacked legal license and could not be trusted for standard services.
He said the issue was wider in districts compared to the provincial capital so all health clinics must be seriously investigated.
