Cabinet decides to form Ushar and Zakat Authority

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Cabinet meeting has decided the formation of Ushar and Zakat Authority and tasked a penal to explore financial resources for the half-completed projects of the National Development Authority, a statement from the Administrative Affairs Department said on Tuesday.

The cabinet meeting was chaired by Acting Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund which discussed the formation of Ushar and Zakat Authority, transparency in the distribution of aid and other issues of vital concern.

The meeting also tasked a penal to explore financial resources for the half-completed projects of the National Development Authority. Penal included officials from the Administrative Affairs, Finance Ministry, Mines and Petroleum Ministry.

The National Development Authority was formed back in 2019 for the better implementation of development projects, enhancing the capacity of development sector, acceleration of economic strength of the country and better management of state enterprises.

The cabinet meeting also decided that all state authorities were compelled to pay their electricity dues to the Da Afghanistan Breshana Shirkat during the incumbent government era.

The cabinet also approved strategies for aid providing NGOs and National Development Authority.
