10 illegal armed men killed in Baghlan operations

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Ten illegal armed personnel have been killed and three others injured in the Andarab and Khost districts of northern Baghlan province, an official said on Wednesday.

Mawlavi Shakir, a senior security official of 117 Umari Military Corps in the northeastern part of the country, said clearing operations against illegal armed personnel conducted in Khost and Andarab districts.

He said 10 illegal armed personnel were killed and three others, including Commander Baryalai, injured. Nine illegal armed personnel surrendered during the operation, he said.

He said security personnel did not oppress common people nor did they fasten the body of anyone after the vehicle.

Noor Ahmad, the resident of Charkh-i-Falak locality in Khost district, said security forces and armed groups engaged in a firefight on Tuesday night.

He said five armed personnel from the Resistance Front were killed, security forces also suffered casualties.

After the fall of the previous government, it was the second time that security forces and illegal armed personnel clashed in Khost district.
