Salang Pass closed for heavy traffic

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Salang Pass which connect central and northern parts of the country closed for lorry trucks and trailers on Thursday night due to storm and snowfall, an official said on Friday.

Qazi Abdullah Obaidi, the Salang Protection Authority, said snowfall accompanied with storm still continued in Salang thus the tunnel will remain closed for heavy traffic.

He said the tunnel is opened for passenger buses but urged drivers to be careful and ensure all necessary measures are in place.
