ZARANJ (Pajhwok): An oxygen generating plant costing $150,000 has been established and put into service in northwestern Nimroz province.

The plant was installed by a pharmaceutical company called Noor Pharma, which operates in Nimroz province with funding from the Kordid organization, an international organization working in the fields of health, peace, education and human rights.

Mullah Abdul Rahman Abdullah, director of public health, at the plant’s inauguration ceremony, said the establishment of the plant would help address the shortage of oxygen in Nimroz hospitals.

Governor Mullah Najeeb Rafi told Pajhwok the plant’s establishment would improve facilities in hospitals.

Ahmad Shah, head of the Noor Pharma company, told Pajhwok that the plant cost $150,000 and had the capacity of producing 120 balloons of oxygen in 24 hours and each balloon contained 40 kilograms of oxygen.
