KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) has collected 423 million afghanis from Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) distribution service in the past five months, an official said on Thursday.
Acting NSIA Head Faqir Mohammad Zeyart told reporters here since the regime change NSIA collected 423 million afghanis in the past five months from CNIC distribution service nationwide.
He said during the period, 759,258 CNICs were issued to people in different provinces and more than 6.8 million cards were issued since the start of this programme.
He said in the past four months 8,902 paper Tazkera ---- old NIC ---- acknowledged and 270 complaints addressed.
He said NSIA has 30 departments and four assistant offices, including Asan Khedmat Offices. In all districts, NSIA served people through Population Registration Offices.
“The NSIA has designed CNIC in three formats for central and provincial offices. The new formats include name and logo of the Islamic Emirate,” he said.
