KABUL (Pajhwok): India has reiterated is firm commitment to offering humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan.
A foreign ministry spokesperson told journalists in New Delhi that India had been focused on deep friendship with the Afghans.
The Hindu quoted Arindam Bagchi as citing India’s dispatch of essential medicines and food items to Afghanistan.
The allocation of Rs200 crore in the Indian budget for assistance to the war-hit country was reflective of its friendship with the Afghans, he said.
“We have always underlined our deep friendship with the people of Afghanistan and have been working to address their concerns,” the official added.
Bagchi parried queries about the delay in granting student visas to the Afghan citizens enrolled in Indian educational institutions.
