KABUL (Pajhwok): United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) deputy representative for Afghanistan expressed satisfaction with the security established after the Islamic Emirate took power and stressed the organization would continue its assistance to needy Afghans.
A statement from the Presidential Palace received by Pajhwok Afghan News said that Mulavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, deputy chief minister met with deputy OCHA head, Fran Equiza today morning.
“We continue our efforts to reach more people in need of assistance and we need for more coordination for creating needed facilities,” the statement quoted Equiza as saying.
He thanked for the normal and safe flow of World Food Program (WFP)’s aid to needy people in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, WFP representative in Afghanistan, Mary Ellen Mc Groarty, who was also present in the meeting, asked for more support to the aid delivery in Afghanistan and also shared some of the organization’s problems with the meeting.
Mulavi Abdul Salam Hanafi assured UN officials that the caretaker government has created a plan for transparent distribution of aid in Afghanistan.
He said that it was the government’s policy to deliver aid to the needy people transparently and without discrimination.
