KABUL (Pajhwok): United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on Thursday urged the Taliban to ensure the safety of missing Afghan women activists.
The UN chief is the latest high-profile figure to express his concern over the well-being of the missing women activists in the country.
On his twitter handle, the UN chief wrote: “I am increasingly concerned about the well-being of missing women activists. Several have ‘disappeared’, some not heard from in weeks.”
Guterres added: “I strongly urge the Taliban to ensure their safety so that they can return home.”
