Afghan cricketers due to arrive in Dhaka today

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s national team arrives in Dhaka today (Saturday) for three One-Day Internationals and two T20 matches against Bangladesh.

With the series due to begin from February 23, the visitors will set off for Sylhet after landing in Dhaka. They are likely to embark on training on February 14.

The tourists will then travel to Chattogram, where the three ODIs will be played. The second and third ODI will take place on February 25 and 28.

Ace leg-spinner Rashid Khan, expected to represent Lahore Qalandars till February 19 in the Pakistan Super League, may not accompany Afghanistan.

Currently playing in the Bangladesh Premier League, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Qais Ahmed will join the Afghan camp on the completion of their stints with their respective franchises

The Afghans will attend a five-day training camp before the series involving three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and two T20Is.

Later on, the squads will move to Dhaka for the 20-over matches, slated for March 2 and 4 at the Sher-i-Bangla National Stadium.
