750 vulnerable Badakhshan families distributed food items

FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Global Partner Charity organization distributed food packages to 750 vulnerable families in Faizabd City, the capital of northeastern Badakhshan province.

The packages were distributed in coordination with Economic Affairs Department and Natural Disaster Management Authority officials.

Mohammad Nadir, head of the Global Partners Development Council, said 750 vulnerable families were earlier identified through a survey to provide them with aid.

He said each family was provided 50 kilograms of flour, one 20 kilogram bag of rice, five litres of cooking oil. The process of aid distribution by Global partner will continue in the future.

Mohammad Afzal, head of the Gawzgon Valley Development Council, welcomed aid distribution by Global Partners and said the residents of this valley plunged and deep economic problems.

“Residents of Badakhshan are facing economic hardships, and if more aid is not provided to the villages and towns of Badakhshan, some villagers in other districts of the province may leave their homes and migrate to Faizabad and neighboring provinces due to poverty,” he said.
