PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Pakistani army chief has discussed regional security, including the situation in Afghanistan, with top European Union (EU) officials.
Currently on an official visit to Belgium, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa met Secretary General of European External Action Services (EEAS) Stefano Sannino and EU Military Committee Chairman Claudio Graziano
A statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Gen. Bajwa discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional security and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
Pakistan valued its relationship with EU countries and looked forward to enhanced cooperation based on common interests, the army chief said.
The EU officials commended Pakistan’s efforts for stability in the region and vowed to play their role in increased collaboration with the country at all levels.
