KABUL (Pajhwok): Iranian army chief says the border between Afghanistan and Iran is well secured and if any minor issues happens, it will be solved by border forces of the two neighbors.
Tasnim News Agency in a report said that Mohammad Baqeri, the army chief of Iran, traveled to Sistan and Baluchestan provinces of that country on Sunday.
The Iranian news agency quoted Baqeri as saying, “Thank God, the shared borders are well secured and if there are any minor issues, they will be resolved by the border guards of the two countries."
About two months ago, a shootout broke out between Afghan and Iranian border forces in Sistan province, but the clash was ended after talks between the border officials of the two countries.
"The armed forces in Sistan and Baluchestan province in addition to securing the border, they also play an important role in helping the people,” Baqeri said.
"The shared border between Iran and Pakistan is the border of peace and friendship, there is trade and commerce in this area," he said.
