KABUL (Pajhwok): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received Sikhs and Hindus who recently migrated from Afghanistan, says his office.
During Saturday’s meeting in New Delhi, a delegation of Afghan minority members thanked the premier for the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and his support for Sikhs and Hindus outside India.
Welcoming the delegation, Modi said they were not guests, but India was home to them.
The meeting comes a day after the PM hosted a number of prominent Sikh leaders at his residence.
Modi talked about the immense difficulties faced by Hindus and Sikhs in Afghanistan and the help provided by his government to bring them to India safely, a statement from his office said.
