Medical university teacher rescued from kidnappers

KABUL (Pajhwok): Security forces have rescued Kabul Medical University of teacher Dr Fawad Pirzad and reunited him with his family.

A neurosurgeon, Dr Pirzad had been kidnapped on February 3 from the Kart-i-Chahar neighbourhood of Kabul.

The intelligence department tweeted that the teacher, abducted a few days ago, had been rescued by intelligence operatives and reunited with his family.

The department said some suspects had been detained in connection with the kidnapping of Dr. Pirzad and they were under interrogation.

Without elaborating, the spy service said three individuals had been detained in connection with the kidnap incident.
